Rachel (dau/1-7.2486) pg 38, Amasa L Clark, pioneer of Battle Creek, Michigan, ... married in 1844 Rachel M Rowley, of Lewis County, New York. They had six boys, two of whom are dead.

Lucy (dau/Ezra)

pg 131, Hon. George H White, Grand Rapids, Michigan was born at Dresden, Yates County New York, September 9, 1922. His father, Joseph White, a mechanic and farmer, and his mother, Lucy (Rowley) White, born near Watkins, at the head of Seneca Lake, were the parents of five children. But two of these, William B and the oldest son, George H White, are now living. Mr White attended the schools of his native town until he reached his thirteenth year, when he went with his grandfather, Ezra Rowley, to Fountain County, Indian. There he worked one year on his grandfather's farm.

George pg 184; The (fire) engine houses in 1888, the property of the city are: ....  No. 3. Corner Front and Second streets. A chemical engine, a hook and ladder truck, and a Button fire engine are kept there. Capacity of engine -- 1,100 gallons per minute. Captains -- William Scott, Frank Lemon, Charles Berger. Lieutenants -- George Rowley, Charles Spencer. (where on page 187 it shows that George was appointed in 1884)
